Ashton Court Lodge

Commissioned by Bristol City Council and Bristol Buildings Presrvation Trust we worked with Austin Smith Lord architects and Mann Williams structural engineers this was a technically detailed restoration of a Grade II* Listed gothic gate house to provide a community education space in the grounds of a private school.

Working closely with the conservation advisers we integrated the mechanical and electrical services systems into the building minimizing the visual impact.

We took advantage of the need to relay floors to install underfloor heating using an air source heat pump so avoiding radiators. Electrical wiring is concealed in walls using conduits fitted into the mortar joints.
